And the Winner of the FREE Ebook giveaway is....... Donna B. CONGRATULATIONS DONNA! Donna has been given the choice either a free copy of The Foolish Princess or Life in a Medieval Castle! Thank you to everyone who participated. From now on, giveaways will only be posted on my facebook & twitter pages as well as this blog, so if you'd like to be a part of future giveaways (like the one coming up this week for a $5 kindle gift card) be sure to like those pages or subscribe to blog updates! :D The pages of history are filled with amazing stories of God's love, mercy and providence. But in today's "Politically Correct" and "Tolerant" world, those pages are usually torn out, or blacked out of school history books. I was so blessed to have been home-schooled by Godly parents. Throughout my schooling my favorite subject was history. I was allowed to choose much of my own curriculum so I learned of many Providential stories in history. However, as I began to mention them to my friends, family and co-workers, they had never heard of these amazing stories before! I was shocked! My favorite person in history was Nathan Hale, a great hero and Christian of the Revolutionary War, but most folks had never heard of him! On June 25, 1962 the court ruled to take prayer out of school. The following year a similar court case banished the reading of the Bible in classrooms. It was around that time that they began to hide Providential history in fear of losing jobs, being politically incorrect or offending someone. Did you know that the SAT test has been in America since 1926? Up till 1962 those test scores had never declined more than two years in a row, however after 1962 the test scores plummeted for 18 years straight. That doesn't sound like a coincidence to me. In addition, the USA leads in: Violent Crimes, Divorce, Teenage Pregnancy (in Western World), Voluntary Abortions, Illegal Drug Use, and Illiteracy (in Western World). For more stats and information on this topic, visit America's Godly Heritage. So, in combination of my love of discovering stories that evidence the amazing hand of Providence and sharing it with others, I have started this blog. Together we will examine the pages of history and bring to light the providential hand that has been at work since creation. We will also meet Godly men and women who will inspire us to "press forward towards the mark of the high calling of Christ." (Phil 3:14). My hope is that you will enjoy this journey, and that you will come to realize that God is not silent in history. He blesses, He judges, and His mercy is unbelievable. May God bless you as you explore His-Story, the Hand of Providence Thru the Ages. ~Amber :D In celebration of the ebook release of The Foolish Princess, I'm giving away one kindle copy of "Life in a Medieval Castle" by Brenda Ralph Lewis!
